New Hire Underscores Commitment to Industry-Leading Product Offerings and Governance Capabilities Amid Global Expansion
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Z Capital Group (“ZCG”), a leading privately held global firm, today announced the appointment of Ashlee Newman as Head of Legal, Investment Funds. Ms. Newman is responsible for the structuring, formation, launch, management, and regulatory compliance of ZCG’s investment products. At ZCG, Ms. Newman will collaborate with the firm’s investment, tax, finance, and capital formation teams to advise on all aspects of ZCG’s fund formation and operations.
Ms. Newman brings extensive experience advising fund sponsors on fund formation and operational matters across a wide range of structures, sectors, and strategies. Prior to joining ZCG, Ms. Newman was a partner in the Investment Funds Practice Group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP (“K&E”), where she advised clients throughout the entire fund lifecycle, including formation, marketing, fundraising, and ongoing management. Before K&E, she served as an associate in the Private Equity Fund Formation Practice Group at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ashlee to our legal team as we continue to grow across new products, strategies, and geographies,” said James Zenni, Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of ZCG. “As our platform scales globally, her proven record advising sophisticated sponsors across structures and jurisdictions will further strengthen our ability to execute with speed and precision while meeting the evolving needs of our investors.”
“ZCG has established itself as a forward-looking and innovative firm across the asset management space, and it is an honor to join the firm in its next chapter of growth,” Ms. Newman said. “As investment products become increasingly complex, nimble and integrated legal functions are critical to meeting the needs of limited partners and operational demands of investment funds. I look forward to helping ZCG build on its longstanding capabilities across fund formation and operational execution.”
The appointment follows a period of significant global expansion for ZCG, including the addition of several senior executives across its business consulting, credit, and international divisions. Earlier this year, the firm also opened offices in both Riyadh and Mumbai to strengthen its international presence.
