Ms. Newman is Head of Legal – Investment Funds at ZCG where she is responsible for structuring, formation, launch, management, and regulatory compliance of ZCG’s investment products. Ms. Newman has extensive experience working with multiple fund sponsors across a variety of investment structures, sectors and strategies with respect to fund formation and fund operational matters.
Prior to joining ZCG, Ms. Newman was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP (“K&E”) in the Investment Funds Practice Group, where she was also previously an Associate. During her time at K&E, Ms. Newman advised clients through all aspects of the funds lifecycle, including with respect to the formation, marketing, fundraising and management of their investment funds, including but not limited to, private equity funds, credit funds, co-investments and funds-of-one.
Prior to K&E, Ms. Newman was an Associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, within the Private Equity Fund Formation Practice Group where she focused on organization and management of the fund formation process of private investment funds for her sponsor clients.
Ms. Newman holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Policy Studies with honors from Syracuse University.
